Nelson PTO
Since the days when the PTO was known as the Packersfield Association parents, teachers, and community members have had a place to come together in support of our school.
Today's PTO often steps in to provide 'extras' for our students at Nelson Elementary School. These extras enrich the educational experience for our students, ensure that the teachers have enough supplies, the students go on field trips, the school adds to its library, and a myriad of other benefits.
Since 2008, the Nelson School PTO has held a live auction in the spring. Monies raised by this auction have helped in the past to provide a new slide for the playground, new swings, and an outdoor structure as well!
Becoming a PTO member is completely voluntary. Our PTO works toward one goal: creating a strong, nurturing school environment for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We meet once a month face-to-face in the Multi-Purpose Room of Nelson Elementary School, but the bulk of our 'work' is done via email and internet.
To become a member of the Nelson Elementary School PTO you don't have to be a parent of a student. All you need is the desire to help our children uncover and discover their full potential. Come help us create the kind of school family where our teachers and our students can do their best work!
